Correlates of War (COW) Project
Ongoing effort at the University of Michigan to study and explore the conditions associated with the outbreak of war, as well as with the conditions surrounding militarized disputes. Site features a variety of data sets as well as history, bibliography, and links to other sources.

Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research
Provides access to an extensive collection of downloadable data. While some data is only available to individuals from member institutions, an extensive collection of criminal justice data, election data, and data from the General Social Surveys is available to the public from this site.

Qualitative Data Archival Resource Centre
The Data Archive was set up in 1967 in order to retain the most significant machine-readable data from the research which it funds. Thus crucial data can be re-analysed by other researchers, and the money spent on research becomes not only an immediate outlay, but an investment for the future.
